PPNS Wins 2021 Roboboat Competition!

Shipbuilding Insitute of Polytechnic Surabaya (SHIPS) team again achieved in the 2021 National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest (KKCTBN) held at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), 21 – 23 October 2021. In this annual national-scale competition, the PPNS team managed to win five championships in five different categories

PPNS sent its contingent to compete and were able to enter the final round in all KKCTBN categories, namely:

1. Autonomous Submarine Surface Vehicle (Team Aeroships).
2. Fuel Engine Remote Control (Cakalang Team 7).
3. Electronic Remote Control (Cakalang Team 3).
4. Coastal Patrol Boat Design (Cakalang Team 9).
5. Autonomous Submarine Design (Team Cakalang 11).
6. Offshore Patrol Boat Design (Tim Cah Bagus).

A total of 172 teams from 67 universities competed in the competition. In this competition, 2 stages must be passed by the teams. Stage I, making a proposal that contains the design of the ship prototype, the system plan and ship engineering, and the budget for making the prototype. Phase II contains the comparison between the prototype ship with the design and system that has been planned, along with evidence of documentation of test results. Teams that pass the second stage of selection can participate in the final stage. The 2021 KKCTBN event itself carries the theme of Maritime Innovation Through Digital Technology to Support Defense Independence and National Security.

In the final, which was held on October 23, 2021, PPNS managed to win various titles, namely:

– 1st Place in the Autonomous Submarine Surface Vehicle (ASSV) Category
– Second place in the Fuel Engine Remote Control (FERC) category
– 3rd Place Offshore Patrol Boat Design
– 3rd Place in the Best Poster Category
– Best design in the Autonomous Submarine Surface Vehicle (ASSV) category
